Hello and welcome to my page! I designed this site to be a tool for parents seeking additional resources and information to assist in supporting their child's speech and language growth at home. While the information included on these pages may be applicable for children of all ages, most of the content is geared towards preschool/early childhood ages 2-5.
A good place to get started, especially if your child has just received a speech-language evaluation or you are considering seeking a speech-language evaluation is by clicking the speech-language development tab. Here you will find information on how children are expected to use language to listen and speak at various ages.
Once specific areas of need have been identified for your child (for example: speech articulation or expressive language), please click on the tab at the top with a corresponding label. There I have included more detailed information, ideas for simple home activities to incorporate in your daily routine, links to websites containing additional information and ideas.
Please bookmark this page and continue to check back as I hope to include frequent blog posts containing additional resources, activities, and ideas. I would also love to share activities that you have found to be especially effective for working with your child at home. If you have any success stories you would like to share, please email me at: elly.flanagan@d303.org
I hope you will find this information helpful in supporting your child's speech and language development at home. In the right toolbar you will find a link to a short survey. I appreciate your feedback which will help me improve my website for families who access it in the future.
